What about the May 19 Primary?

There is a General Election on November 3, 2026.
The primary for that election will be held on May 19. (Deadline to register to vote is April 20 • 12am)
This will be a "regular" primary - Democrats running agianst other Dems, Republicans running against competing GOP candidates. While many of the Democratic candidates do not have Democratic opposition, there are a important races with competing Dems.*
Georgia's Election Ready 2026 page is a great resource for an overview of the races, how to vote, and overall info about elections and voting in Georgia. Qualifying Candidate Information provides a searchable database of all races and candidates in Georgia (choose the May 19 primary, not the November 3 general election).
Depending on where in Floyd County you live, your primary ballot will have some more local races, all of whom are the only Democrat running:
U.S. House of Representatives, District 14: Shawn Harris (website)
Georgia State Senate, District 53: John "Jack" Zibluk (website)
Georgia State House, District 5: Rasmus Jensen (website)
Georgia State House, District 12: Holly Chaney (website)

*Most notably the Governor's race, which currently has seven Democrats running.
