  • Election Day is May 19 for the primary is to select candidates for the November 3 midterm election.

  • There is also a nonpartisan election in process for which May 19 is the final election day.

This is a regular primary - Democrats running against other Dems, Republicans running against competing GOP candidates. When you go to the polls you will be asked to select a ballot, Democratic, Republican or nonpartisan. If you select Democratic, you'll see just Democratic and nonpartisan candidates. While many of the Democratic candidates do not have Democratic opposition, there are a important races with competing Dems.

The nonpartisan portion of the ballot is to elect justices of the Georgia Supreme Court and Georgia Appeals Court judges. Incumbents on this portion of the ballot were appointed by Republican governors and have been endorsed by the Georgia Republican Party. We strongly support and urge you to vote for Miracle Rankin and Jen Jordan for Supreme Court.

There are also two informational questions on the Democratic ballot that were placed there by the Democratic Party of Georgia. The Republican ballot has different questions, placed there by that party. Ballots from other districts in Georgia may have other questions that were added by local entities.
